FINE ART WATERCOLOR & DRAWINGS
Growing up in the little village of Lumberville along the Delaware Canal, my earliest memories are of art and artists. My early “jobs” were babysitting artists’ children while they worked in their studios. Neighbors were working artists whose studios were always open for visiting, watching and learning.
The Bucks County landscape has always been a constant source of inspiration for my art. I have always had a deep affection for the farms and farmers. I am drawn to the rural settings of working farms and weather-worn barns. Recently, my work has focused on the vanishing farm landscape of the upper Bucks County region – to capture their stories and commit them to drawings and paintings, most often done en plein air.
Starting with a delicate pencil drawing, I add washes of watercolor (and sometimes, oil pastel) all in the pursuit to capture a moment in time – to convey the qualities of light and emotion that captured my heart.
My studio is a small tenant house (dating back to the early 1800s) on a preserved farm in Bedminster township and is open by appointment.
