Charlene Lavinia

Fine Artist, Retired Art Teacher

Bio:
Charlene Lavinia, artist/retired art teacher from Doylestown, PA and summer resident of Long Island, NY, attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, received a B.S. in Art Education from Penn State University and an M. Ed. in Art from Temple University/Tyler School of Art. Her work has consisted of numerous commissioned paintings, commercial graphics, and illustrations in addition to 34 years of teaching high school fine arts for the Central Bucks School District.
“My representational style has been greatly influenced by early training in “commercial” art and illustration. In the pre-digital world of the late ‘60s, I was trained to accurately render products for publication, and I have almost apologetically retained that attention to detail in my work.
Painting is my preferred expression. I enjoy the process of observation and the
challenge of recreating the light, color and forms I see. My medium is usually dictated
by the subject matter.”
