Aromatic Herb Bundle

Giclee print of original watercolor and pen and ink

  • 5 x 7, framed to 7.25 x 9.25 inches, Black gallery frame, 1 ½ inches deep

Aromatic bundles have long been part of indigenous cultures’ spiritual ceremonies and healing practices. Herbs are thoughtfully chosen, collected, and tied together for use in smudging, or appreciated freshly cut. They are used in cultural ceremonies and as medicines, and at holiday times to flavor soups and stews. The pleasant fragrance of these green herbs derives from the organic terpenes they contain. Gently touching the herbs releases the chemical, which is found in all plant parts – leaves and flowers as well as stems and roots. These chemicals form the basis for the benefits of forest bathing also known as Shinrin-Yoku.

I am a self-taught nature artist focusing on the concept of Place. I work mainly in watercolor and pen and ink and often incorporate lettering and calligraphy in my pieces, following the traditional botanical illustration style of labeling the compositional elements. I work in my homes in New Jersey and Central Pennsylvania.

To purchase artwork, contact the artist directly; a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County.
