Bernadette McBride, author of four full-length poetry collections, served as long-time poetry editor for the Schuylkill Valley Journal and is a founding member of poetry improv troupe, No River Twice. Her writing honors include winning second place for the International Ray Bradbury Writing Award, recognition in the UK, Canada, and on PRI’s The Writer’s Almanac, and three Pushcart Prize nominations for poetry. She taught creative writing and literature at Temple University for many years, is a faculty member at Bucks County Community College, a writing editor for individual clients, and is a Pennsylvania Poet Laureate for Bucks County.
Also a visual artist, she paints in mixed media —watercolor, pen-and-ink, and acrylic— and has shown and sold her extensive body of Celtic Art paintings, including prints of commissioned work in art shows, shop galleries, and art festivals across five states. Her designs have also appeared as both cover art for journals and other publications and complementary illustrations for single print pieces. Current work includes commissions for private clients and businesses, historic buildings, private homes, commemorative images of campus buildings, and various other themes.
