LITERARY ARTS SALON at Freeman Hall

Join us for a LITERARY ARTS SALON on August 4, 2022, at 7 pm at Freeman Hall, 181 East Court Street, Doylestown, featuring four distinctive writers and poets: Dante Del Vecchio, Patricia Goodrich, Cleveland Wall, and Bill Wunder. Presented by the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County.

All four writers will read selections from their work followed by a relaxed discussion, Q & A session, and light refreshments. Books will be available for sale. Seating is limited and free parking is available. Reservations are required. Weather permitting, the salon will be held on the front porch, if not, we will be in the parlor at Freeman Hall and will follow the covid protocols of Freeman Hall.

MEET THE ARTISTS:
Dante del Vecchio is a poet, singer/songwriter and painter. He is the former winner of the student poetry contest at Bucks County Community College and former editor of the Literary magazine at the college. He has been published in various small presses and university publications. He is also a former finalist for the Bucks County Poet Laureate contest.

Patricia Goodrich is a poet and visual artist. She has been featured reader at writers’ conferences in Slovenia, Lithuania, and Russia, and at the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, USA She has received Pennsylvania Fellowships in Poetry and Creative Nonfiction. Stone Hunting in Transylvania, Woman With A Wandering Eye, How the Moose Got To Be, Verda’s House, and Red Mud are among Goodrich’s books of poems. Her poetry has been translated into Chinese, Finnish, French, Lithuanian, Slovenian, and Romanian. . The River Place, a volume in collaboration with Romanian poet Ioan Hadarig will be published August, 2022.

Cleveland Wall is a poet, teaching artist, and librarian in Bethlehem, PA. She performs with interactive poetry troupe No River Twice and with musical combo The Starry Eyes. She is the author of Let X=X and many small, hand-made chapbooks. Current obsessions include dream life, embodied poetics, ephemeral art, and the power of persistent, incremental change.

Bill Wunder’s poem, “’Looking Through Old Family Photographs was chosen as a co-winner for First Prize in the 2022 Allen Ginsberg Poetry Awards. He is a poet, editor and the author of four volumes of poetry. Bill’s book, Hand’s Turning the Earth was a national finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. He is a two-time Pushcart Nominee, and a former Poet Laureate of Bucks County, Pa. His newest volume of Poetry is Welcome to Paradise, New and Selected Poems. Bill’s poems are widely published, and recently, some of his work became a permanent part of a Living Anthology on War Memories published in Revue LISA (Le Mans, France). A Vietnam veteran, Bill served as Poetry Editor of The Schuylkill Valley Journal (Philadelphia, Pa.) for ten years.
