Local Artists - Bucks County Art!

Artist members of the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County traveled throughout Bucks County this fall to create postcard-sized original works in celebration of our County’s beloved locations.

Visit Bucks County is the official tourism promotion agency for Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Go to VisitBucksCounty.com to plan your next getaway or stop by the Bucks County Visitor Center in Bensalem to pick up information to assist you with your visit.

The Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County and Visit Bucks County presented “Bucks County: Wish You Were Here – A Small Works Art Exhibit” from December 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021

The event was a huge success, leading to extensive artist networking. Thirty works of art were sold, and artists sold additional pieces through social media and website links and promotions. All of the proceeds from the sales of all artwork went directly to individual artists – a much-needed boost during the challenging times.

Participating artists had a lot to say about the show’s success.

Photographer Cheryl Bomba wrote to us about the show’s fruitful outreach: “Thank you so much for the promotion! Great show, and thanks so much for your efforts on our behalf. I got a number of phone inquiries about my work…Sometimes people do reach out weeks or months later so I’m still hopeful. My work was definitely noticed through the exhibit!”

Fine artist Bill Jersey wrote, “Thanks so much for everything you and everyone at the Council have done to promote the show and the work of everyone in it. It is truly appreciated, and I very much look forward to more events and shows (and to the end of this pandemic!!)”

And lastly, Philadelphia artist Lisa Domenic was inspired by the sense of community she experienced as a participant in the show. She wrote, “I am so glad to have found your organization…Your encouragement means so much and I feel like I have arrived home.”

The seven finalists in the juried show had their art reproduced as postcards distributed throughout the County at various locations, including Mercer Museum and Fonthill, the Bucks County Visitor Center, Washington Crossing Historic Park, Peddler’s Village, Delaware Riverkeeper Network, Bucks County Covered Bridge Society, Patterson Farm, and more.

The Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County appreciates the commitment, enthusiasm, and talent of countless regional artists, arts enthusiasts, and collectors who participated in the “Bucks County: Wish You Were Here” online exhibition and sale.

We couldn’t do it without you.
