This beautiful cherry finish plein air frame with raised profile molding around the outer edge is compatible for works of art with traditional to modern interior design. The 3″ wide molding is enhanced by a raised and rounded top edge and offset inner groove. The frame comes ready for hanging with D-ring hanging hardware and is complete with a dust cover on the back. This plein air frame has a solid wood composition coated in gesso to ensure a smooth, blemish-free surface.

I definitely had a unique experience creating this “mostly” plein air painting. I sat myself off the path within the undergrowth of low trees in a local park near my home to capture this viewpoint of the beautiful Kuser Mansion there. It was a hot summer morning, so the shade was welcomed. Hidden in that strange place I had to laugh as people passed by giving me a double take. I enjoyed creating the tiny details of the mansion within this small work, and I love the double meaning of the title “Hidden.” Painting has always been a passion of mine. Although I spent almost two decades creating with clay, I’ve returned to painting exclusively for the past seven years. I was a high school art teacher for 37 years and now during retirement I have time to concentrate on my own art, which has brought me much joy. I feel my other painting in this exhibit ” Morning and the Azaleas,” is a wonderful companion piece to this painting. Both are framed in the same frames and look lovely together or hung separately.
