Henry Mercer’s collections of everyday items are fascinating. Today, they are invaluable as they record our history and give us a glimpse into the past. “Field Treasures” is a collection of things found in the farm fields on several plein air outings over the fall and winter. I would bring them in and set them on the windowsill in my studio. The morning light filtering in on them caught my eye and I decided to capture them on paper.
