Modern Fossils is excited to announce that three of their pieces have been accepted into The West Orange Arts Council’s upcoming exhibition entitled “Objet Trouve.” The chosen Modern Fossils works are: “Techno Turtle”, “SOS”, and “Brink of Extinction.”
This live and virtual exhibit of found objects was curated by Carol Black-Lemon. The virtual event opens January 9. Face coverings and social distancing are required for the in-person exhibition. Modern Fossils has a commitment to true preservation, incorporating both natural and man-made objects and aggregates discovered on regular river clean ups, found ephemera, and e-waste into unique, handmade, environmental artwork. Artist David Horowitz notes, “Being an artist is great; it’s a wonderful thing to be. Having a cause, a goal, that goes with the art, makes it a little bit deeper and richer.”
