Bach’s St. John Passion – Performed by the Dryden Ensemble

March 15, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

A rare opportunity to hear this masterpiece with the same performing forces that Bach used: a choir of eight superb singers and a small orchestra of 18th-century instruments. The effect is wonderfully direct and personal.

Scott Metcalfe, an acclaimed early music director, leads the production which features Jason McStoots as Evangelist, and William Sharp as Jesus, as well as sopranos Teresa Wakim and Margot Rood, mezzo-sopranos Kristen Dubenion-Smith and Kim Leeds, tenor Aaron Sheehan, and baritone Brian Ming Chu.

This production is a celebration of the Dryden Ensemble’s 25th anniversary. For related events, including a lecture, an instrument demonstration, and a panel discussion, please visit our website.
