I Capture the Castle

MEDIUM:

Photography

SIZE / PRICE:

  • 12 x 18 inches, framed to 18 x 24 inches, black gallery frame with white mat – $250

During the pandemic, the only certainty was uncertainty. When venues closed, many artists, especially photographers, waded deep into their archives to revisit and reimagine images and, through them, express their current emotions and take a brief respite in the creative process and fantasy images.

The original image for this work was taken at the beginning of the shutdown. “I Capture the Castle” provided a rare but unnerving opportunity to have an iconic landmark “all to myself.”

Native New Jerseyian Cheryl Bomba has been a resident of Hopewell for over twenty years. Cheryl became involved with photography as a special education teacher and adjunct lecturer when she bought one of the first digital cameras and began taking portraits of her students with autism. Since then, her interests have expanded to include capturing small moments in nature, architecture, and sculpture.
