Growing up in Doylestown, I spent much time on the Mercer properties. I maintain that the Mercer Museum is my favorite due to its creative curating unrivaled by any but the Kelvingrove in Glasgow. This piece depicts a knight not chronicled on the Bayeaux Tapestry, sewn by women but depicting few. (Musée de la Tapisserie de Bayeux.) Using the old ways, I employ natural dyeing in my feltmaking and textiles, sew my drawn lines in thread creating new histories, and I use locally sourced wools from my travels such as in Iceland, Bretagne, Norway, and Visby on Gotland.
