A&C First Thursdays: An Evening of Poetry in Memory of Julie Cooper-Fratrik/September @ 7pm

The Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County will pay tribute to the life and legacy of former Bucks County Poet Laureate Julie Cooper-Fratrik during a special First Thursday Literary Salon on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Freeman Hall in Doylestown.
The free public event, An Evening of Poetry in Memory of Julie Cooper-Fratrik, will celebrate the beloved poet, educator, mentor, and community advocate, who died last November at the age of 84.
A longtime member of the Arts & Cultural Council, Cooper-Fratrik was widely recognized throughout Bucks County for her contributions to the literary arts. She served as Bucks County Poet Laureate, authored three collections of poetry, taught English composition and creative writing for many years, and dedicated herself to advancing education and supporting women through her community service. Her encouragement of emerging writers and commitment to the local arts community left a lasting impression on countless students, poets, and friends.
The evening will feature readings of Cooper-Fratrik’s poetry by fellow writers and those who knew her personally, offering attendees an opportunity to reflect on both her work and the influence she had on the region’s literary community. Following the readings, guests are invited to stay for an informal discussion and light refreshments.
