Ponder Goembel is a trained artist/illustrator whose work has been printed in magazines, advertisements, album covers and lastly in award winning children’s books. She re-discovered oil painting in 2013 and now enjoys taking photographs, creates and teaches art in many mediums and participates in events and exhibitions in Bucks County PA where she lives with her husband and an antique shop.
Ponder’s painting, titled Philada, is one of her early oils and she chose it for the R. E. D. exhibit because the original bottle is a common yet treasured antique like those collected by Henry Chapman Mercer. Her bottle was one of several found in a hidden nook in her first house, a trinity, that she restored in Philadelphia years ago.
