Oil, Pastel and Mixed Media Art

Inspired by fresh air and the ever-changing views of the outdoors, I have fallen for the total immersion and intense pleasure of trying to capture the essence of a place; layering texture, light and color onto a canvas en plein air. Not always having the luxury to paint outdoors, I take photos, make sketches, revitalize memories, and sometimes create totally new worlds in the studio. 

Art is a gift that has enabled me to more fully support others by providing an abundant source of discovery, inspiration and renewal. I find it hard to fully describe how I feel about the magic of the outside, the endless ways to see and depict the world around me, the growth that comes from the challenge of trying to get it right, and the depth of the connections that I have made along the way.
