SUMMARY:Fall Salon Show - Closing Weekend - Celebrate Visual and Literary Arts
DESCRIPTION:Doors are open in Doylestown for another fantastic art exhibition and sale\, coupled with an opportunity to meet local writers and illustrators. \nJoin the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County on October 1 and 2 from noon to 4pm for the closing of the Fall Salon Member Show at Freeman Hall on East Court Street in Doylestown. Stop in to see a stunning exhibition featuring the work of over 125 regional artists – 250 paintings\, drawings\, prints\, photographs\, mixed media works\, sculptures\, handmade books\, ceramics\, jewelry\, and more. Visitors to the show continue to comment on the variety of work exhibited\, the breadth of local talent on display\, and the historic setting that invites guests to linger and enjoy the work. \nThe Fall Salon Show is also a fabulous opportunity for collectors\, all of whom are invited to see the show and support local artists by making a purchase. Framed as well as matted works are available for sale. \nIn addition\, on Sunday\, October 2 from 1 to 3 pm\, the Arts & Cultural Council will host local authors signing and selling their books\, as well as book illustrators showcasing their work. SUMMARY:A&C LITERARY ARTS SALON
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a LITERARY ARTS SALON on October 6\, 2022\, at 7 pm at Freeman Hall\, 181 East Court Street\, Doylestown\, featuring four wonderful writers: Chad Frame\, Patricia Goodrich\, Lynn Miller\, and Julie Standig. Presented by the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County. \nAll four writers will read selections from their work followed by a relaxed discussion\, Q & A session\, and light refreshments. Books will be available for sale. Seating is limited and free parking is available. Reservations are required. If weather permits\, the salon will be held on the front porch\, if not\, we will be in the parlor at Freeman Hall and will follow any covid protocols of Freeman Hall. Masks are recommended and appreciated. \nFor reservations email info@bucksarts.org. \nMEET THE ARTISTS: \nChad Frame is the author of Little Black Book (2022\, Finishing Line Press)\, Director of the Montgomery County Poet Laureate Program\, a Poet Laureate Emeritus of Montgomery County\, PA\, Poetry Editor of Ovunque Siamo\, and founder of the Caesura Poetry Festival and Retreat. His work has appeared in Rattle\, Pedestal\, Barrelhouse\, Rust+Moth\, and elsewhere\, including on iTunes from the Library of Congress\, and was sent to the moon as part of the Lunar Codex Project. \nPatricia Goodrich is a poet and visual artist. She has been featured reader at writers’ conferences in Slovenia\, Lithuania\, and Russia\, and at the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival\, USA  She has received Pennsylvania Fellowships in Poetry and Creative Nonfiction. Stone Hunting in Transylvania\, Woman With A Wandering Eye\, How the Moose Got To Be\, Verda’s House\, and Red Mud are among Goodrich’s books of poems. Her poetry has been translated into Chinese\, Finnish\, French\, Lithuanian\, Slovenian\, and Romanian. .  The River Place\, a volume in collaboration with Romanian poet Ioan Hadarig will be published August\, 2022 \nLynn Miller is Professor Emeritus of Political Science\, Temple University. He is the author of a number of books and articles on world politics. Books include Organizing Mankind and Global Order: Values and Power in International Politics. His 2010 novel is Crossing the Line. He is the co-author (with Lloyd Jensen) of Global Challenge\, (with Annette H. Emgarth) of French Philadelphia\, (with James McClelland) of City in a Park\, and (with Therese Dolan) of Salut! France Meets Philadelphia: The French Presence in Philadelphia’s History\, Culture\, and Art\, which was published by Temple University Press in November\, 2020. His memoir\, Postcards from Delphi\, is now available from the author. \nA lifetime New Yorker\, Julie Standig now writes with two amazing poetry groups\, Marie Kane’s KT and the Stalwart Poets. She has been published in Alehouse Press\, Sadie Girl Press\, After Happy Hour Review\, Schuylkill Journal Review\, US1 Poets/Del Val\, Gyroscope Review as well as online journals. Her first chapbook\, Memsahib Memoir was released by Plan B Press in 2017 and an upcoming collection\, The Forsaken Little Black Book will be released Fall 2022 by Kelsay Books. She lives in Bucks County with her husband and their springer spaniel. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Join Modern Fossils and David Horowitz Studio for our OPEN HOUSE on Friday October 7th from 2pm – 8pm! \nAs part of The Hunterdon Art Tour’s First Friday Open Studio Series\, both David’s Barn / Workshop (More Art Studio) and Modern Fossils’ Greenhouse Studio will be open for touring! Additional works will be on display in our yard and home Gallery as well. \nThere will be snacks\, drinks\, and hot dogs on the grill\, plus live music in the yard! \nOur address is 207 Milford Rd\, right across from the Citgo Station Parking Lot (where there is usually plenty of parking).\nLook for the house with the huge wooden Pegasus Sculpture on the front porch\, and come around back!
