SUMMARY:Astronomical Exhibition Tour and Star Watch
DESCRIPTION:The Hicks Art Center Gallery is thrilled to collaborate with Bucks-Mont Astronomy Association to present a free and open to the public Star Watch on August 22\, 2023 from 6 – 10 p.m. In conjunction with the exhibition\, Astronomical: Gazing Inward & Beyond\, Exhibitions Associate Clifford Eberly will lead a walk through in the gallery at 6 p.m. with participating artists Katelyn B. Knight\, Christine McHugh\, Andrea Wallace and faculty Caren Friedman. Following the tour\, attendees are invited to purchase delicious\, authentic Thai food and beverages from the Thai Cha Chak Food Truck outside Hicks Art Center. At dusk\, BMAA club members will have telescopes available to look through and will be on hand to answer questions.\nDress warmly and bring binoculars or your own telescopes if you have them. We ask that you leave your pets at home for the safety and comfort of other participants and to prevent potential damage to delicate equipment.\nFor comfortable seating\, attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs in addition to their curiosity and taste buds!

The cohort of artists participating in the exhibition use numbers and numeric identifiers to describe personal\, process and historical narratives through sculpture\, painting\, collage\, or visual diagrams/images that symbolize spaces for realized well-being or vessels of conflict.

DESCRIPTION:Modern Fossils is thrilled to again be a part of THAT: The Hunterdon Art Tour 2021! \nTHAT is an annual\, countywide\, self-guided driving tour of artist’s studios and cultural centers\, which will be open to the Public from 11AM-5PM on Saturday May 1st and Sunday May 2nd. \n**Modern Fossils will once again be exhibiting inside the Frenchtown Hardware Store at 11 Kingwood Ave\, Frenchtown NJ\, on both days!** \nTHAT cultivates awareness of and builds connections within Hunterdon County’s abundant creative and educational communities\, and thereby gains recognition for the county as a vital home and destination for the arts. \nIn homage to the great American road trip\, THAT curates a countywide studio tour along the region’s scenic by-ways\, linking together a mixture of arts venues and studios as engaging day trips. DESCRIPTION:Watch each film on your own schedule before the Zoom meeting. Most films are available for free at www.actvid.com. Or you can use the website JUSTWATCH.com\, to find out on which streaming services each film is available. A Zoom link will be emailed to you the day of the meeting. \nAfter watching Cabaret and then All That Jazz\, you will notice many similar techniques used by Bob Fosse\, the director and choreographer of each film. We will hold a discussion on what the group notices in terms of Fosse’s style of directing\, choreography\, camera angles and movement\, etc.\, and the similarities and differences of these techniques as they relate to each film. Are they just Fosse’s style of making movies or are they used to enhance the message of each film? \nOur host David Shaw is a graduate of UCLA Film School and worked in various aspects of production in the LA Film Industry for many years. Join us by bringing a few non-perishable food items or paper products to help those whose holidays will be brightened by your caring and generosity. Poets reading include the current Bucks County Poet Laureate\, MaryJo Lo Bello Jerome and two other previous Poets Laureate along with an assemblage of award-winning and published writers.
