SUMMARY:Poems for The Lonely Girls
DESCRIPTION:A & C members Constance McBride (Visual Artist) and Bernadette McBride (Literary Artist) share the A & C Sculpture Spotlight from July 2023 to January 2024 at the Township Library of Lower Southampton\, highlighting five Lonely Girls (sculpture) and five Poems beginning July 7th. \nBernadette McBride is the award-winning author of four full-length poetry collections\, served as long-time poetry editor for the Schuylkill Valley Journal and is a founding member of poetry improv troupe\, No River Twice. Constance McBride’s work throws light on issues experienced by most women—from becoming aware of the male gaze and self-objectifying\, to harassment\, abuse\, marginalization and ageism. \nVisitors can see their work during library hours: 10am–8pm Monday through Thursday\, 12-4pm Friday\, and 9am–4pm Saturday. The Township Library of Lower Southampton is located at 1983 Bridgetown Pike in Feasterville-Trevose\, PA.

DESCRIPTION:Fiction & Non-Fiction Readings  \nLower Southampton Township Library\nNovember 13\, 6pm-8pm\n1983 Bridgeton Pike\, Feasterville\, PA 19053 \nJoin us to hear these nine wonderful fiction and nonfiction writers read selections from their works\, take questions\, and talk books!  \nMEET THE ARTISTS: \nJobert E. Abueva (New Hope\, PA) is author of Boy Wander – A Coming of Age Memoir (Rattling Good Yarns Press) and recipient of the Lambda Literary J. Michael Samuel Prize. Credits: The New York Times\, The Philadelphia Inquirer\, et al. He is also a global marketer at ETS. jobertabueva.net \nBill Hemmig’s first short story collection\, Americana: Stories was recently published by Read Furiously\, which also published his novella\, Brethren Hollow\, and two of his stories in its Life in the Garden State anthologies.  He has been published in\, among others\, The Madison Review\, Philadelphia Stories\, and BarBar. \nDr. Tom Mallouk is a psychotherapist/writer who just completed his tenure as Bucks County poet laureate. He’s the curator of Poet’s Corner in the Bucks County Herald. He is the author of two chapbooks of poetry\, most recently The Write Metaphor\, and his creative nonfiction has been featured in Solstice Literary Magazine and Narrative. \nFilipina-American Anna Maria Manalo is an author of paranormal suspense memoirs and anthologies. She specializes in hauntings brought about by catastrophic events such as WWII\, acts of human violence\, odd and strange entities that appear in remote\, isolated or abandoned places\, or beings created by human thought called Tulpas. \nMacmillan published Judith McNally’s first novel\, Jigsaw\, in 1981. The New Federal Theatre\, NYC\, optioned her Charlie Parker play\, Birdland\, and the NJ State Council on the Arts awarded her a Top Priority Prose Fellowship before that. Now she most enjoys writing short\, comic dialogues\, a.k.a. “micro-logues!”  \nMargaret Montet’s narratives of place feature music\, memoir\, and culture. Also a college librarian\, she holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction\, and presents multimedia music-centered lectures at lifelong learning venues. Her creative nonfiction has been published in many journals and anthologies. Margaret’s first collection of travel essays is Nerd Traveler.  \nJennifer Nelson is a writer and teacher living in Middletown Township. She runs Your Stories\, a writing services company. She earned graduate degrees in journalism from Columbia University and creative writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her bachelor’s degree is from the University of California\, Berkeley. \nDavid. R. Roth is the author of the INDIES and International Book Award-winning novel The Femme Fatale Hypothesis. His short fiction has appeared in Moss.\, Passager Journal\, Writers Write\, among others. Driftwood Press has twice named him a quarter-finalist in its Adrift Short Story Contest. \nLinda C. Wisniewski is a former librarian and journalist living in Doylestown. She teaches memoir writing and volunteers at the Pearl Buck House\, and is the author of a memoir\, Off Kilter and a novel\, Where the Stork Flies. SUMMARY:“Skull Sessions” Group Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Bucks County and Philadelphia regions are home to a vibrant multitude of artist run spaces and cultural collectives. From realism to narrative installation\, the artworks in the exhibition “Skull Sessions” represent a current survey of the range of genres in which artists amongst their art group peers are currently practicing. \nThe title of the exhibition takes its name from the strategy building sessions that are more typically associated with athletics-especially football. In “Skull Sessions”\, the art will speak for the artist with ideas shared and communicated to the viewers as if they are players on a united team.
