DESCRIPTION:“APRIL: 30 DAYS OF INSPIRATION”\nApril 1-30\, 2022 \nSubmit artwork and poetry between February 1- February 15\, 2022  \nArts & Cultural Council of Bucks County is accepting submissions for “April: 30 Days of Inspiration\,” a poem-a-day-paired-with-an-artwork-a-day social media campaign in recognition of National Poetry Month. \nOne poem paired with one artwork will be featured daily throughout the month of April on the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County’s social media pages. \nWe seek submissions of poetry and artwork that explore what inspires\, strengthens\, connects\, calms\, or revives. This project is not limited to Bucks County residents or Arts & Cultural Council members; there is no submission fee. We accept previously published poetry; artists need not create new work to enter the show. DESCRIPTION:This exhibition showcases the works of adult and youth students completed in classes during 2021 as well as that of the talented AOY Faculty. Each student artists’ work tells a story of their art journey. DESCRIPTION:Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County presents a LITERARY ARTS SALON on February 17\, 2022\, at 7 pm at Freeman Hall\, 181 East Court Street\, Doylestown\, featuring Nicole Steinberg\, 2021 Bucks County Poet Laureate; Lynn Levin\, 2021 Bucks County Short Fiction Prize winner; Steve Nolan\, writer and poet; Bill Hemmig\, novelist; and Jennifer Nelson\, memoirist. \nWriters will read selections from their work followed by a Q & A session and light refreshments in the parlor at Freeman Hall. Books will be available for sale. Masks are required in Freeman Hall and we require that attendees be vaccinated\, all for the safety of everyone. Seating is limited and free parking is available. \nFor reservations email info@bucksarts.org. \nMEET THE ARTISTS: \nNicole Steinberg is the author of Glass Actress (Furniture Press Books\, 2017); Getting Lucky (Spooky Girlfriend Press\, 2013); four chapbooks\, including Fat Dreams (Barrelhouse\, 2018); and the editor of Forgotten Borough: Writers Come to Terms with Queens (SUNY Press\, 2011). Her work has been featured in the New York Times\, Newsweek\, Flavorwire\, and Hyperallergic. Recently\, she was named the 2021 Bucks County Poet Laureate. She lives in Newtown and can be found at nicolesteinberg.net. \nBill Hemmig’s novella\, Brethren Hollow\, is published by Read Furiously. His short stories appear in Read Furiously’s two Life in the Garden State anthologies\, The World Takes and Stay Salty\, as well as in The Madison Review\, Philadelphia Stories\, and cc&d. He is a three-time finalist in the New Millennium Writing awards. By day he is Dean of Learning Resources and Online Learning at Bucks County Community College. \nJennifer Nelson runs Your Stories\, a memoir writing company in Bucks County\, and teaches memoir writing at Delaware Valley University and Bucks County Community College. For more than 15 years\, Jennifer taught French in public and private high schools and stories about the challenges and joys of working with adolescents form the basis of Waiting for the Bell\, forthcoming in 2023. Jennifer has worked as a journalist for Bloomberg\, McGraw-Hill\, and the Home News. \nLynn Levin received the 2021 Bucks County Short Fiction Prize for her story “Tell Us about Your Experience.”  A poet\, writer\, translator\, and teacher\, she is also the 1999 Bucks County Poet Laureate. Levin’s short stories have appeared in The Satirist\, The Saturday Evening Post\, Cleaver\, Amarillo Bay\, and The Broadkill Review. Her most recent poetry collection\, The Minor Virtues was named one of Spring 2020’s best books by The Philadelphia Inquirer. She teaches at Drexel University. He has published in numerous journals and his poetry was featured on National Public Radio\, Morning Edition\, upon his return from Afghanistan in 2007. He is the author of “Go Deep\,” “Base Camp\,” and “American Carnage\, An Officer’s Duty to Warn.” His work reflects his commitment to social justice.
