This event will be Thursday\, May 5\, 2022 from 6-8:30 pm at Pearl S. Buck International\, 520 Dublin Road\, Perkasie\, PA 18944. \n As minority communities face the daily stranglehold of racial profiling\, and police officers face relentless scrutiny by an anxious public\, tensions mount as lines are being drawn in the sand. This conflict can only be broken by finding common ground with each other. WALKING WHILE BLACK: L.O.V.E. Is The Answer presents proven action steps to bridge the painful gap between peace officers and the communities they serve. L.O.V.E. is an acronym best described in this pledge: I pledge to LEARN about the people in my community\, to unconditionally OPEN my heart to their needs as if they were all immediate family members\, to VOLUNTEER to be part of the solution in their life during both good and challenging times\, and to EMPOWER everyone I meet to do the same as if our lives depended on each other. He is the former winner of the student poetry contest at Bucks County Community College and former editor of the Literary magazine at the college. He has been published in various small presses and university publications. He is also a former finalist for the Bucks County Poet Laureate contest. \nPatricia Goodrich is a poet and visual artist. She has been featured reader at writers’ conferences in Slovenia\, Lithuania\, and Russia\, and at the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival\, USA She has received Pennsylvania Fellowships in Poetry and Creative Nonfiction. Stone Hunting in Transylvania\, Woman With A Wandering Eye\, How the Moose Got To Be\, Verda’s House\, and Red Mud are among Goodrich’s books of poems. Her poetry has been translated into Chinese\, Finnish\, French\, Lithuanian\, Slovenian\, and Romanian. . The River Place\, a volume in collaboration with Romanian poet Ioan Hadarig will be published August\, 2022. \nCleveland Wall is a poet\, teaching artist\, and librarian in Bethlehem\, PA. She performs with interactive poetry troupe No River Twice and with musical combo The Starry Eyes. She is the author of Let X=X and many small\, hand-made chapbooks. Current obsessions include dream life\, embodied poetics\, ephemeral art\, and the power of persistent\, incremental change. \nBill Wunder’s poem\, “’Looking Through Old Family Photographs was chosen as a co-winner for First Prize in the 2022 Allen Ginsberg Poetry Awards. He is a poet\, editor and the author of four volumes of poetry. Bill’s book\, Hand’s Turning the Earth was a national finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. He is a two-time Pushcart Nominee\, and a former Poet Laureate of Bucks County\, Pa. His newest volume of Poetry is Welcome to Paradise\, New and Selected Poems. Bill’s poems are widely published\, and recently\, some of his work became a permanent part of a Living Anthology on War Memories published in Revue LISA (Le Mans\, France). A Vietnam veteran\, Bill served as Poetry Editor of The Schuylkill Valley Journal (Philadelphia\, Pa.) for ten years.

ZOOM INFORMATION SESSION: BUCKS COUNTY WINE & ART TRAIL 2023\nLEARN MORE: Thursday September 29\, 2022\, at 6 p.m. on Zoom \nJoin Visit Bucks County staff and Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County board members Jane Ramsey and Ruth Anderson\, as they walk you through the details about the upcoming BUCKS COUNTY WINE & ART TRAIL event. \nThe BUCKS COUNTY WINE & ART TRAIL continues the partnership between Visit Bucks County (VBC) and the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County (A&C). Artists working in all mediums and styles are once again invited to visit participating wineries THROUGHOUT THE YEAR\, to create works for the Bucks County Wine & Art Trail. \nThe collaboration features opportunities for representational and non-representational regional artists working in all mediums to create works inspired by Bucks County wineries\, to visit wineries to work or gather images\, to expand arts marketing in a variety of ways\, to exhibit and sell artwork\, and to be part of tourism promotion in Bucks County. \n\nArtists will COMMIT TO PARTICIPATE in the 2023 project October 1\, 2022\, through November 15\, 2022.\nArtists will be able to visit wineries upon completion of the COMMIT TO PARTICIPATE form; packets will be mailed to participating artists separately.\nArtist will SUBMIT FINISHED WORKS completed in any style\, medium\, or season for consideration for the Trail during the submission period\, April 1-July 1\, 2023.\nThe 2023 Trail will open in October 2023.\n\nCurated works will be displayed on professionally printed weatherproof display panels at the wineries and on a set of fine art notecards beginning October 2023. Works will also be included in an in-person exhibition\, sale\, and community reception at Freeman Hall in Doylestown in 2024. \nArtists who participated in the inaugural Trail are welcome to re-commit – and new artists are always welcome! DESCRIPTION:Doors are open in Doylestown for another fantastic art exhibition and sale\, coupled with an opportunity to meet local writers and illustrators. \nJoin the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County on October 1 and 2 from noon to 4pm for the closing of the Fall Salon Member Show at Freeman Hall on East Court Street in Doylestown. Stop in to see a stunning exhibition featuring the work of over 125 regional artists – 250 paintings\, drawings\, prints\, photographs\, mixed media works\, sculptures\, handmade books\, ceramics\, jewelry\, and more. Visitors to the show continue to comment on the variety of work exhibited\, the breadth of local talent on display\, and the historic setting that invites guests to linger and enjoy the work. \nThe Fall Salon Show is also a fabulous opportunity for collectors\, all of whom are invited to see the show and support local artists by making a purchase. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a LITERARY ARTS SALON on October 6\, 2022\, at 7 pm at Freeman Hall\, 181 East Court Street\, Doylestown\, featuring four wonderful writers: Chad Frame\, Patricia Goodrich\, Lynn Miller\, and Julie Standig. Presented by the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County. \nAll four writers will read selections from their work followed by a relaxed discussion\, Q & A session\, and light refreshments. Books will be available for sale. Seating is limited and free parking is available. Reservations are required. If weather permits\, the salon will be held on the front porch\, if not\, we will be in the parlor at Freeman Hall and will follow any covid protocols of Freeman Hall. Masks are recommended and appreciated. \nFor reservations email info@bucksarts.org. \nMEET THE ARTISTS: \nChad Frame is the author of Little Black Book (2022\, Finishing Line Press)\, Director of the Montgomery County Poet Laureate Program\, a Poet Laureate Emeritus of Montgomery County\, PA\, Poetry Editor of Ovunque Siamo\, and founder of the Caesura Poetry Festival and Retreat. His work has appeared in Rattle\, Pedestal\, Barrelhouse\, Rust+Moth\, and elsewhere\, including on iTunes from the Library of Congress\, and was sent to the moon as part of the Lunar Codex Project. \nPatricia Goodrich is a poet and visual artist. She has been featured reader at writers’ conferences in Slovenia\, Lithuania\, and Russia\, and at the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival\, USA  She has received Pennsylvania Fellowships in Poetry and Creative Nonfiction. Stone Hunting in Transylvania\, Woman With A Wandering Eye\, How the Moose Got To Be\, Verda’s House\, and Red Mud are among Goodrich’s books of poems. Her poetry has been translated into Chinese\, Finnish\, French\, Lithuanian\, Slovenian\, and Romanian. .  The River Place\, a volume in collaboration with Romanian poet Ioan Hadarig will be published August\, 2022 \nLynn Miller is Professor Emeritus of Political Science\, Temple University. He is the author of a number of books and articles on world politics. Books include Organizing Mankind and Global Order: Values and Power in International Politics. His 2010 novel is Crossing the Line. He is the co-author (with Lloyd Jensen) of Global Challenge\, (with Annette H. Emgarth) of French Philadelphia\, (with James McClelland) of City in a Park\, and (with Therese Dolan) of Salut! France Meets Philadelphia: The French Presence in Philadelphia’s History\, Culture\, and Art\, which was published by Temple University Press in November\, 2020. His memoir\, Postcards from Delphi\, is now available from the author. \nA lifetime New Yorker\, Julie Standig now writes with two amazing poetry groups\, Marie Kane’s KT and the Stalwart Poets. She has been published in Alehouse Press\, Sadie Girl Press\, After Happy Hour Review\, Schuylkill Journal Review\, US1 Poets/Del Val\, Gyroscope Review as well as online journals. Her first chapbook\, Memsahib Memoir was released by Plan B Press in 2017 and an upcoming collection\, The Forsaken Little Black Book will be released Fall 2022 by Kelsay Books. She lives in Bucks County with her husband and their springer spaniel. \n  \n
