DESCRIPTION:Modern Fossils is thrilled to again be a part of THAT: The Hunterdon Art Tour 2021! \nTHAT is an annual\, countywide\, self-guided driving tour of artist’s studios and cultural centers\, which will be open to the Public from 11AM-5PM on Saturday May 1st and Sunday May 2nd. \n**Modern Fossils will once again be exhibiting inside the Frenchtown Hardware Store at 11 Kingwood Ave\, Frenchtown NJ\, on both days!** \nTHAT cultivates awareness of and builds connections within Hunterdon County’s abundant creative and educational communities\, and thereby gains recognition for the county as a vital home and destination for the arts. \nIn homage to the great American road trip\, THAT curates a countywide studio tour along the region’s scenic by-ways\, linking together a mixture of arts venues and studios as engaging day trips. Kline Gallery in Lambertville\, New Jersey. “Favoring Realism” highlights the paintings for which the award-winning artist is recognized. Working in oil\, Ms. Chesterton selects still life subjects\, artfully arranged in compositions mostly observed at eye level. Preferring common\, ordinary objects which reflect the beauty marks of age and wear\, she works to capture their presence in realistic renderings. “Zig Zag and Dots\,” featured here\, shows her affinity to metal ware.\nJeanne will be painting at the gallery most Saturdays from 2 to 4pm.\nThe Opening Reception is Saturday\, May 8th from 5 to 8pm. With the Stover Mill Gallery exhibition of his “Hopperesque style” and new impressionistic work\, Bill will also turn 94. “No reason\,” he says\, “to slow down now!” The exhibit entitled Explorations is open from 1:00 to 5:00pm on June 26-27\, July 3-4\, 10-11\, 17-18\, 24-25. \nThe Stover Mill Gallery – housed in the beautifully restored 187 year-old Stover Mill which is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places – is located along the Delaware River at 852 River Road (Route 32)\, Erwinna PA; two miles south of the Frenchtown Bridge and 15 miles north of New Hope. DESCRIPTION:Stover Mill Art Gallery presents PIECES AND PLACES\nFeaturing works by A&C members Kathleen McSherry and Ilene Rubin \nTwo renowned Bucks County Artists. One a painter of places and things related to the bucolic surrounding environs. The other\, a sculptor who utilizes unique and locally found elements. Ilene Rubin and Kathleen McSherry will present Pieces and Places of Bucks County at The Stover Mill Gallery weekends beginning Saturday\, August 28. \nMs. Rubin is a self-taught artist who has lived in Elkins Park\, Thousand Oaks\, California\, Boulder\, Colorado and now calls Doylestown home. She has received numerous awards\, including the Ty Hodanish award for Oil Painting in the Artsbridge 2021 Member Show in March 2021\, and is also a published author of two novels. She is a participating artist in the 2021 Bucks County Chamber of Commerce Virtual Studio Artist Tour and was the Featured Artist in Bucks County Magazine in June 2021. She is a member of most Bucks County Art organizations and previously served as Vice President of the New Hope Art League. She is currently the Artist of Bristol Chair of the Art Show at the Lower Bucks Hospital. \nKathleen McSherry has a longstanding appreciation for the abandoned and obscure. Her approach to sculpture can be described as archaeological. Her work references multiple strata of American culture\, refusing to be tethered to a singular aesthetic. Her choice of composition and media are benefited through their familiarity\, giving the chimeric aspects of her sculpture a sense of uncanniness\, yet wonder.
