Earlier this summer, the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County provided its members with the amazing opportunity to tour Italy! They were abroad for about a week and were able to share their musical talents in 4 concerts during the tour. The cities they visited include Padova, Venice, Verona, Tuscany, Lucca (the birth place of Puccini), Via Reggio, Florence, Siena, Rome and Vatican City.
The orchestra performed at the cathedral in Perugia, in an open air concert in Padova, in a park in Montecatini, and at the Plaza della Republica in Florence. For their last concert at the Plaza della Republica, the crowd started at several hundred and by the 5th of 6th encore was in excess of 2,000!
This tour was truly an experience of a lifetime for these young musicians.
