Congratulations to our members and friends at New Hope Arts on receiving a grant from PNC Arts Alive for their Outdoor Sculpture Project! Recipients were selected for bold thinking around increasing arts access and engagement. New Hope Arts Executive Director, Carol Cruickshanks, commented on the perfect match between the PNC Arts Alive mission and the essential needs of revitalizing the outdoor exhibition.

“We now have the resources and opportunity to restore the outdoor sculpture vision created by our founder, Robin Larsen over twelve years ago.”  The official opening for the exhibition is planned for July 4th weekend 2015. This walk-able family friendly public art display will be explored and enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.  More information on the official opening can be found by clicking here.

One of our members, Sandy Askey-Admas has been featured in a new book, “Artists’ Homes and Studios,” a behind-the-scenes look of the art world touring the homes and studios of 86 international artists. You can find the book here on Amazon.  If you make your purchase through Amazon Smile, you can designate the Arts & Cultural Council as your charity of choice at no additional cost.

Sandy was also featured in a recent edition of SouthwestArt magazine in a piece celebrating women artists. “Like many landscape painters, (she) sees the natural environment as an inexhaustible source of inspiration. For the Pennsylvania-based pastel artist, just gazing at a tree with its serpentine twists and turns is an exciting moment that can stir her soul.” Click here to view the article and scroll down for Sandy’s piece.  Congratulations, Sandy!
