Bucks County artist Elizabeth Zack is an Impressionistic artist interplaying a full spectrum of color and light creating an ethereal effect. Her art is less about the subject than the emotions the subject evokes. Her paintings are generally nature scenes where she draws her inspiration from. What she feels she puts on canvas.
Elizabeth’s journey started out as a classical painter and then evolved from there. She first studied with classical painter, Dot Bunn getting a solid foundation, learning color palette to mechanics of design in oil painting techniques. Then she studied plein air practicing principles of illusionistic painting and linear perspective with Patrick Connors, instructor at Studio Incamminati. She went on to study with Emily Thompson, experimenting with Abstract art. Finally, she studied with Ty Hodanish an Impressionistic artist. Ultimately she settled on Impressionism which allowed her to be inspirational and yet portray nature. It is through experimentation in different styles that Elizabeth has developed her own unique style. Elizabeth has a special gift of bringing luminous color into her work giving great beauty and distinctiveness.
She is a member of New Hope Art League, Artsbridge Art League, Philadelphia Sketch Club and Arts and Cultural Council of Bucks County. She is also the chairwoman of the scholarship committee for NHAL. Elizabeth has facilitated the Art Expression Day of “Empowering U” program for teenage girls at the Central Bucks Family YMCA. Elizabeth’s work has been featured in juried shows, exhibitions, and Bucks County Designer home throughout the region.
