I’m attracted to the notion that movement can exist on a flat, two dimensional surface.
I strive to keep the surface of my work active and energized by arranging plants and flowers in a lyrical, abstract grouping; by determined focus and exaggerated detail.
I find parallel between my interest in moving, active lines and nature’s complex arrangements.
More recently, I have begun to include animals and humans in my work with the hope of creating a loosely suggestive narrative. I like the contrast between our orderly life and ‘wildness’ and am interested in exploring its metaphorical potential.
