VISIT THE FARM
Participating artists will create a 2-D or 3-D work of art in any visual arts medium inspired
by the life and work of Oscar Hammerstein or by the beauty of Highland Farm. To that end,
participating artists are invited to spend time on Highland Farm (indoors and out) on March 9
from noon to 4 pm (rain date March 10, noon to 4 pm) for the purpose of photographing and/
or sketching in preparation for the creation of original artworks. Please note that Highland
Farm is private property; artist visits for the purpose of this event are restricted to that weekend.
Highland Farm is located at 70 East Road in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
Artists are required to register for participation in The Art of Oscar on or before April 1, 2019
Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County (ACCBC) members may register free of charge
through their membership; all other registrants pay a $30 registration fee for adults, $15
registration for students age 16 to 21, which includes a one year membership to the ACCBC.
The top 100 selected pieces will be on display at Oscar Hammerstein’s Highland Farm.
We anticipate exhibiting work from approximately 80 adult artists and 20 student artists,
age 16 and older. To enter, artists must submit images of their work to email@example.com on or before April 15.
Images must be JPEG format at 300ppi and sized to 1800 pixels on the longest dimension.
Artists are welcome to submit images for social media and press opportunities, also on or
before April 15. Submit images to firstname.lastname@example.org. Artworks will be viewed for judging, prizing, and purchase until the end of the day on
Saturday, May 18. Participating artists are required to bring their own easel or display stand to showcase their
artwork during the Member’s Reception, Pre-Show and Sale, and Art Show and Sale at
Highland Farm, May 16 through May 18. Participating artists and event participants give ACCBC, Visit Bucks County, and Highland
Farm permission for photographs of themselves and/or their artwork taken during this event

Participating artists understand that ACCBC, Visit Bucks County, and Highland Farm will not
share these images with any other institution or organization for their use.
Artists will receive 50% of the proceeds from the sale of their artworks. The remaining proceeds
from the event will support participating artists, raise awareness for the arts in Bucks County,
and help preserve our region’s national treasure, Highland Farm.
