"Kids Connect to the Classics: Concert

The Newtown Chamber Orchestra is presenting its third annual “Kids Connect to the Classics”concert this Sunday, March 22, 3:00 p.m., at Pennsbury High School East, located at 705 Hood Blvd.,Fairless Hills. The free concert is a condensed version of a recent past performance that included:
 
  Beethoven Coriolanus Overture
  Mendelssohn String Symphony # 9 in C Major
  Schumann Piano Concerto in A Minor op. 54, Kara Shen, piano
Boccherini Symphony No. 21
 and is a perfect way for families to introduce youngsters to the wonders of music. There is an instrumental ‘petting zoo’ where children can try playing different instruments, as well as prizes given out for answering musical-related questions during the performance. Children and their accompanying parents/guardians are admitted free (the concert is funded through grants from foundations and corporations)! Reservations are not needed – just show up at the door.
